Polk County Middle’s girls basketball team ended its season Thursday on a high note, rallying for a 37-33 overtime victory against Flat Rock at Polk Middle.
The Wolverines close their season at 3-9, winning two of their final three games.
“This team has been a joy to coach,” said Polk County Middle head coach Michelle Fagan, in her first season with the program. “They are a wonderful group of young ladies, and I am so proud of their hard work and improvements throughout this season.”

Ansley Lynch and Mariah Overholt each scored 11 points for Polk Middle. Ava Marino added eight points, with Makalya Staley scoring five and Anna McFadden scoring two.
The Wolverines dropped a 32-16 decision at Hendersonville Middle on Wednesday. Lynch scored seven points, with Bre Kenan adding six and Overholt scoring three.
