Polk Middle girls rally to defeat Apple Valley

Polk County Middle rallied from a four-point halftime deficit Wednesday to earn its first win of the season, downing Apple Valley 35-26 in a Blue Ridge Middle School Conference girls basketball game at Apple Valley.

Bre Kenan scored 14 points and Ansley Lynch added 10 for the Wolverines (1-3). Paulina Harding had three key free throws in the fourth period to help Polk Middle preserve its lead.

“We picked up our intensity and focus in the second half,” said Polk County Middle head coach Michelle Fagan. “We are thrilled to get this win.”

Makalya Staley added five points for Polk Middle, who return home Monday to host Hendersonville Middle School at 4:30 p.m.
