Polk girls lose Lynch to knee injury

1 min read

Polk County sophomore basketball standout Ansley Lynch will be sidelined for several games after suffering a knee injury in Friday’s loss at Hendersonville.

Laura Lynch said her daughter, Polk County’s second-leading scorer and leading rebounder, suffered an injury to her medial patellofemoral ligament during the game. The MFLP holds the kneecap in place.

Laura Lynch said the preliminary diagnosis is a tear of the MFLP ligament. If an MRI confirms that diagnoses, Ansley Lynch is expected to have minor outpatient surgery in the next few days, then begin rehabilitation.
