Tori Thompson scored 19 points Monday, one of four Polk County players in double figures, as the Wolverines routed Chase 71-22 in Forest City.
Polk County improved to 6-1 in defeating Chase (0-5) for the second time in five days. It’s the first time a Polk County girls team has opened a season with a 6-1 start since the 2007-2008 team opened its season with a 10-0 mark.
Thompson scored 15 of her points in the second half, with three 3-pointers, as Polk outscored Chase 42-4 over the final two periods. She also had seven assists and five steals.
Olivia Overholt had 15 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists, with Emmie McDowell and Marissa Twitty each scoring 10 points.
Sara Muse had nine points, with Rachael Davis scoring four and Alana Jergenson and Kristen Hall each adding two.
Polk County travels Tuesday to East Henderson for another non-conference matchup.
