Lewis’ career night helps Polk girls score road win
Freshman Kylie Lewis had a career-high 19 points Monday to help lead Polk County to a 55-45 victory over Brevard in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference clash in Brevard.
Lewis’ output backed the 22-point effort of senior Olivia Overholt as the Wolverines (10-5, 5-3) rebounded from back-to-back losses last week.
Lewis and Overholt each had six points in the first quarter as Polk grabbed a 14-7 lead.
Brevard dropped to 5-9, 3-4.
Kinsley Huskey added six points, with Mia Bradley scoring four and Tori Thompson and Kiera Littlejohn each scoring two.
Polk County returns home Thursday to face East Henderson in a non-conference game. Varsity girls begin at 6 p.m. and the game will also air on NFHS Network.
