Kropp’s big night leads Polk to victory in conference opener

Hayley Kropp poured in a career-high 33 points Friday to lead Polk County to a 50-48 win over Madison in the Western Highlands Conference opener for both teams in Marshall.

Kropp added 12 rebounds and six steals for the Wolverines (3-3, 1-0). The senior finished just three points shy of Briana Cunningham’s school record of 36 points, set in 2005.

Autumn Owen had eight points and six rebounds, with Ansley Lynch adding five points and Bella Marino and Kendall Hall each scoring two.

The Wolverines return to action Tuesday, traveling to Mitchell for another WHC game.
