Kropp, Phipps named to Times-News All-Area girls basketball squad

Polk County’s Hayley Kropp and Sarah Phipps have been selected to the annual Times-News All-Area girls basketball squad.

Kropp, a sophomore, earned all-Western Highlands Conference honors this season while scoring a team-high 15.7 points per game. She also averaged five rebounds and five steals per game.

Phipps, a junior, also earned all-conference honors. She finished second on the team in scoring at 7.6 points per game and grabbed 10.6 rebounds per game, one of the top averages in Western North Carolina.
