Kropp named All-Area player of the year

Polk County senior Hayley Kropp has been named the Times-News All-Area girls basketball player of the year for the second straight year.

Kropp led Western North Carolina and finished fourth in the state in scoring at 26.3 points per game according to MaxPreps. She also averaged 12.2 rebounds and five steals per game.

Sophomore teammate Autumn Owen was named to the All-Area team after averaging 11.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
