Dominant first half powers Polk JVs to win at Patton

Polk County’s girls junior varsity basketball team delivered a commanding performance Friday, defeating Patton 40-12 in Morganton.

Polk County (6-3) set the tone early, surging to an 18-3 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Wolverines maintained their dominance in the second quarter, building a 35-4 advantage by halftime in the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matchup.

Amiyah Waters led the scoring for Polk with 13 points, followed by Beija Olivari with nine and Cate Brown with eight. Sofie Abrahamsen added five points, while Jill Brown and Honesty Jackson each had two points and Exziah Staley added one.

Polk County will be back in action on Tuesday, hosting Hendersonville at 4 p.m.
