Amy Chupp recorded a double-double Thursday to lead Polk County to a 35-21 win over Brevard in girls junior varsity basketball action at Polk.

With the Wolverines missing a pair of guards, Chupp finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and two steals to lead Polk. Lauren Dotson added 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

“Our post players stepped up and took on roles they were not formerly comfortable doing,” said Polk JV head coach Amber Thompson. “Lauren Dotson and Amy Chupp had one of their best games all season with steals that turned into points on the other end.”

Savanah Parris finished with seven points, four rebounds and two assists with Kaylin Jenkins adding four points, five rebounds and four assists. Emily Prince had two points, eight steals and four rebounds while Julia Ridings had seven rebounds and Jessie Emory had six rebounds.

Polk County hosts Madison on Friday in a Western Highlands Conference meeting.
