Bearcats build halftime edge, hang on to down Wolverines

Hendersonville Middle defeated Polk County Middle 31-20 in Monday’s Blue Ridge Conference girls basketball action in Hendersonville.

The Patriots (1-2) built an 11-4 lead after the first quarter and led 18-10 at halftime. Hendersonville maintained control throughout the second half, outscoring Polk County 13-10 over the final two periods.

Emily Dotson led the Wolverines (0-3) with 12 points. Liana Sokil added five, Myrakle Gary scored two and Ryleigh Dill finished with one.

Polk County Middle hosts Apple Valley Middle on Tuesday.
