Two Wolverines place in top five at Bright’s Creek

Reeve Carroll and Addie Buss each finished among the top five Wednesday as Polk County placed second in a three-team girls golf match at Bright’s Creek.

The Wolverines posted a team score of 159 on the par-36, nine-hole layout, trailing East Rutherford’s winning total of 137. West Lincoln had just two golfers and did not record a team score.

Carroll led Polk County with a 49, good for third place overall. Buss followed with a 53 to finish fifth, with Ryleigh Dill’s 57 completing Polk’s three counting rounds.

Sofie Abrahamsen added a 59 for the Wolverines, with Rylynn Turner shooting 61 and Chloe McGill finishing with a 63.

East Rutherford’s Saige Harris earned medalist honors with a 3-over-par 39. Teammate Kyleigh Pinkerton was second with a 48, followed by Carroll. Kaitlyn Francis of East Rutherford placed fourth with a 50, one stroke ahead of Buss.
