Polk County’s 2020 football schedule, now planned for 2021, is set.
The Wolverines are slated to open the delayed 2020 season on Feb. 26, traveling to Hendersonville, before returning to G.M. Tennant Stadium on March 5 to face East Rutherford in the home opener.
Those will be the only two non-conference games as all North Carolina High School Athletic Association teams will play a seven-game regular-season schedule. The NCHSAA made that change, as well as delaying the regular season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Polk County will begin its Western Highlands Conference schedule on March 12, journeying to Madison. The Wolverines are set to conclude the regular season on April 9, hosting Mountain Heritage.
