
Polk County is expected to be a top contender this season in the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference football race according to a preseason poll of area media.
The Wolverines are picked to finish second in the MF7 according to the poll of media members covering teams in the conference. The News Herald in Morganton conducted the poll.
Hendersonville is the choice to win the conference, receiving five first-place votes. Polk County finished second in the poll, receiving two first-place votes, followed by Brevard.
R-S Central, Chase, Patton and East Rutherford rounded out the poll.
Media casting votes in the poll included The Daily Courier in Forest City, the Times-News in Hendersonville, the News Herald, PolkSports.com, Transylvania Times in Brevard and WCAB 590 Radio in Forest City.
