Polk County's Angus Weaver heads upfield during Friday's game at Hendersonville

Polk County senior Angus Weaver has added another accomplishment to his growing list.

Weaver surpassed 4,000 career rushing yards Friday during the third quarter of the Wolverines’ 32-21 loss at Hendersonville. Weaver reached the milestone on a 23-yard carry on the first play of a Wolverine scoring drive.

Polk County’s career rushing leader, Weaver finished the game with 209 yards rushing on 21 carries, giving him 1,051 yards for the season. It marks his third straight 1,000-yard season and also the third straight game in which he has rushed for 200 or more yards, the first time he has done that in his career.

Weaver’s rushing total by season:

2019: 105 carries-771 yards
2020: 138-1,017
2021: 178-1,186
2022: 108-1,051 (through six games)
