Polk-Chase game to resume Saturday at noon

Polk County’s season-opening football game at Chase will be resumed Saturday at noon after thunderstorms forced suspension of the game on Thursday.

The game was stopped with 2:59 remaining in the first quarter as storms approached Allen Stadium. Lightning and rain persisted throughout the evening, preventing the game from being restarted.

The Trojans will resume play with a 15-0 lead, having scored and kicking an extra point just before the game was halted.
