Two Polk County football players earned All-Western North Carolina honors from the Asheville Citizen Times.
Senior running back Loreynzo Sanchez and junior linebacker Styler Blackwell each received Third Team All-WNC recognition.
Sanchez rushed for 1,916 yards and 22 touchdowns on 284 carries in his final season with the Wolverines. He also caught 20 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown and returned two kickoffs for 127 yards and one touchdown.

Sanchez set multiple school records during the season, including most rushing attempts in a season (284), single-game rushing yards (343), single-game rushing touchdowns (8) and single-game touchdowns (8). His eight-touchdown performance tied a state record. His 1,916 rushing yards ranked as the second-highest single-season total in school history.
Blackwell led the Wolverines with 101 tackles while also recording eight tackles for loss, one sack and two fumble recoveries. On offense, he caught 36 passes for 711 yards and five touchdowns as a tight end.
