Wolverine runners compete in R-S Central morning meet
Polk County’s cross country teams returned to action Saturday, trekking to Rutherfordton for an early-morning meet at R-S Central.
The Wolverine boys and girls teams took part in the R-S Saturday Brunch #1, competing with Franklin and R-S Central. Teams from East Rutherford, Chase and Patton competed later in the morning as the meet was held under the current health guidelines put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Olivia Overholt led Polk with a third-place effort in the girls race, followed by Emma Brunell and Taytem Johnson with top-10 finishes. For the Polk boys, Mark Teague had a fifth-place showing, with Braxton Edwards adding a seventh.
The Wolverine boys did not compete in the team portion of the meet.
