Polk County Middle posted a pair of top-four finishes at a Blue Ridge Conference cross country meet on Tuesday in Mills River.
The Wolverines’ girls team placed third in the team standings, while the boys squad finished fourth. Rugby Middle served as host for the meet.
Sophia Junge paced Polk County’s girls with a runner-up finish. Heidi Klootwyk placed 15th, followed by Nora Williams in 19th, Rylie Klimstra in 27th and Kayla Hayford in 36th.

Noah Hammond led the Polk County boys with a third-place showing. Noah Gutierrez took 16th, with John McGrath placing 35th, Eric Ramirez finishing 36th and Ellis Searcy taking 50th.
