Caleb Potter led Polk County’s boys cross country team to victory Tuesday in the RS/Armentrout Invitational at R-S Central High School.

Despite a warm afternoon with the temperature 85 degrees at the start of the race, the well-hydrated Wolverines raced to victory in the 10-team field, finishing ahead of R-S Central and Chesnee, S.C.

Potter took top honors on the hilly course with a time of 18:34.43, finishing some 45 seconds ahead of R-S Central freshman Christopher Upton.
