Polk County placed three runners in the top 12 spots at the Mountain Foothills 7 Pre-Conference cross country meet held Thursday in Brevard.

Davis Young and Jayln Thomas placed 10th and 11th, respectively, in the boys race while Karsyn Huskey raced to an 11th-place showing in the girls field.

Hendersonville’s Turner Knox won the boys run with a time of 18:15, and Brevard runners finished 3rd-8th to take the boys team title. Brooke Hope of R-s Central led the girls race, with Brevard girls placing 5th through ninth to win that competition.

Polk runners are next scheduled to be in action on Saturday, taking part in the Freedom Invitational at Freedom High School.
