Jack Derkach just missed the top 10, placing 11th in 18:36, with Connor Holtz placing 44th in 20:35 and Emmett Zacharias in 56th at 21:24 for the Wolverines.

Also competing were Kiyon Staley (22:37), Chris Rickman (23:35) and Nick Poe (25:59). Six of the eight runners recorded a personal best time.

The Polk girls had just four competitors and thus didn’t compete in the team standings, but were led by Sadie Allen’s 25:50, good for 41st overall. Also competing were Taytem Johnson (26:49), Izzy Jackson (30:51) and Ailey Morlino (34:02).

The Wolverines are next slated to compete in Sept. 16 in the Freedom Invitational in Morganton.
