
Olivia Overholt placed seventh Friday to lead Polk County’s efforts at the Friday Night Lights Cross Country Festival in Kernersville.
Running on the same Ivey Redmon Sports Complex circuit that is used for the state championship meet, Overholt finished the race in 21:19.88, not far off the pace of winner Lauren Tolbert of Highland Tech, who posted a time of 19:54.17.
The Wolverine boys and girls teams competed in the Invitational division at the event.
Polk County’s girls placed 19th of 24 teams. Also competing for the Wolverine girls were:

- Syler Purtill, 25:37.92
- Lindsey Jenkins, 25:59.65
- Lauren Dotson, 26:05.55
- Tori Thompson, 26:21.10
Mark Teague had the top finish for the Polk boys, placing 47th with a time of 18:38.11 in a field of more than 250 runners. The Wolverine boys finished 31st in the 33-team field.

Broddy Reynolds competed in the Boys JV Gold division and finished in a time of 30:20.39.
