Polk County's India Godlock

Polk County’s India Godlock took top honors Saturday in the Girls A 5K race at the Freedom Invitational at Freedom Park in Morganton.

Godlock posted a time of 20:52.20 to finish more than a minute ahead of Providence’s Meghan Noon. Providence runners placed second through seventh to win the team competition.

The Wolverins placed fifth in the six-team field.

Also competing for Polk County were:
Nicole Mott, 28:23.50; Sadie Allen, 28:42.90; Izzy Jackson, 28:52.40; Abigail Amato, 32:11.10; Madison Poe, 26:15.60

Polk County’s boys competed in both the Boys Championship and Boys A races. Chris Lawrence had the fastest overall time for the Wolverines on the day, finishing the 5K course in 20:20:80 in the Championship race.

The Wolverines placed 16th in the 22-team field in the Championship race and 13th in the 14-team field in the Boys A race.
