Godlock named Times-News runner of the year

Polk County junior India Godlock has been named the Times-News All-Area Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Godlock won the Western Highlands Conference championship and earned all-state honors with a fifth-place finish at the state 2A cross country meet in Kernersville. She ran a career-best 19:58 at the 2A West Regional, where she placed third.

Three other Polk County runners were named to the boys All-Area squad. Seniors Sean Doyle, Mitchell Brown and Jacob Wolfe all received spots on the squad.
