
Friday Night Lights proved all right Friday for Polk County’s Sean Doyle and India Godlock.
Running on the course where the state 2A championship meet will be held later this year, Doyle and Godlock each ran to victories in their respective races at the Friday Night Lights meet at Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville.
Competing in the race’s boys invitational class, Doyle covered the 5K course in a time of 16:55.46 for his second meet win of the season. Randleman’s Trevor Deaton placed second with a time of 16:57.87 in the field of 208 runners.
Godlock covered the course in 20:21.66 to win the girls invitational class by almost 15 seconds. Ragsdale’s Alex Apple placed second in 20:36.14 in the field of 176 runners.
Polk County placed 17th in the boys team competition, with Mitchell Brown placing 52nd with a time of 19:09.95. The rest of the Polk County boys:
