It was a sight that Polk County cross country coach Alan Peoples always loves to witness.
Wolverine runners took the top three spots Thursday in the girls division of The Farm Invitational at Chase, with Leah Dotson winning the race to lead the sweep.
Dotson’s time of 24:11.49 placed her ahead of teammates Susanna Ashworth and Arianna Wood and helped Polk defeat East Rutherford in the team competition.
“It was beautiful to see the first three girls finish wearing our royal blue,” Peoples said.
Davis Young also posted a top-three finish to pace the Polk boys, who placed third in the team race behind Chase and Franklin School of Innovation.
Jayln Thomas finished fifth for Polk’s other top-10 effort.
The Wolverines will travel Tuesday to Brevard for the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference Championships. That meet begins at 4 p.m.
