
Yoder receives McKissick Award at Brevard College athletic banquet
Brevard College senior and former Polk County standout Mitchell Yoder received one of the football program’s top awards during the college’s annual athletic awards banquet held April 20 in Boshamer Gymnasium.
Yoder received the John McKissick Award, presented annually to the most outstanding football senior student-athlete both on and off the field.
Despite missing two games due to an injury, Yoder rushed for 389 yards and a touchdown in his senior season and also caught 28 passes for 284 yards and four scores. He was named the USA South Football Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Tornados’ 22-20 win over Methodist on Oct. 8.
