Sizemore gymnasts compete in AAU National Championship

Athletes from Sizemore Gymnastics Academy competed July 2 at the 2023 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championship in Orlando, Fla.

Aria Springs and Emma Whitehurst represented SGA at the AAU Xcel Silver level. Genevieve Ard participated at the AAU Xcel Gold level while Sherlyn Trejo and Kylie Whitinger competed at the AAU Xcel Platinum level.

For SGA’s Silver team, Springs received 35.55 all-around from her fourth on vault with 9.375, fourth on beam with 9.075, 8.75 on bars and 8.35 on floor. Whitehurst achieved 35.9 all-around from her 9.35 on bars, 9.125 on vault, 8.725 on beam and 8.7 on floor.

Ard earned 36.85 all-around from her third on vault with 9.3, fourth on bars with 9.4, 9.15 on floor and 9.0 on beam for SGA Gold.

For Xcel Platinum, Trejo earned second all-around in her division with 37.975 all-around from her tie for first on bars with 9.775, first on beam with 9.75, tie for first on floor with 9.65 and 8.8 on vault. Whitinger raised her all-around to 33.6 from her 8.825 on floor, 8.425 on bars, 8.3 on beam and 8.05 on vault.
