Polk YMCA offering registration for youth basketball leagues, Parents Night Out

The Polk County YMCA is currently offering registration for its youth winter basketball leagues.

Leagues are available for players ages 6-13 in the following groups:

  • U8 Coed, 6-7 years old
  • U10 Coed, 9-10 years old
  • U12, 10-11 years old
  • U14, 12-13 years old

Registration is open through November 21. All games and practices will be held at Stearns Gym in Columbus.

Registration fee is $60 per player for the coed leagues and $65 for the older leagues. Players can register online through the YMCA website.

Parents Night Out on Nov. 12

The YMCA is also offering a Parents Night out on Friday, Nov. 12.

Parents of children ages 4-12 can drop their children off at Stearns Gym on Nov. 12 from 5-9 p.m. and have a few hours for themselves. Children should be dropped off from 5-5:30 p.m.

YMCA staff will have different activities and movies for the children. Children are allowed to bring snacks with them, but snacks should not contain peanuts.
