
Polk Parks and Recreation cancels spring baseball, volleyball
Polk County Parks and Recreation has cancelled its spring baseball and volleyball seasons. The department said it would make a decision on soccer on April 6.
Due to the threat from COVID-19, Parks and Recreation has decided to follow the lead of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, which has suspended all scholastic athletic activities until April 6.
The department said it would try to schedule a tournament or some other type of event this summer.
Parks and Recreation said refunds will be given in the manner received – families can pick up their cash payment at Stearns Gym, checks will be shredded and credit card payments will be refunded.
