Polk County Youth Football’s 11 and 12-year old team ended a dominant season in style on Saturday.

The Wolverines capped an undefeated year with a 56-12 rout of Cleveland County in the championship game of the Mid-Atlantic Carolinas American Youth Football & Cheer Conference.

Under the direction of head coach Steve Blatt, who won the 100th game of his career in Saturday’s win, Polk County rolled to a 12-0 record this season. Six of those wins came in conference play against teams from Cleveland, Gaston, Rutherford and Spartanburg counties. Another six wins came in non-conference play against Asheville, East Buncombe, West Henderson, North Henderson, Inman and Landrum.

The Wolverines outscored their opponents 434-114 during the season.
