Polk County Volleyball Club teams brought home plenty of hardware Sunday from the Alliance Champions Weekend in Spartanburg.

PCVC Heather: PCVC’s youngest travel squad claimed top honors for the weekend, finishing a perfect 5-0 and dropping just two sets in winning the 13 Club division.

One of those two set losses came in the championship match, a thrilling 25-27, 25-15, 15-11 win over Palmetto Strikers Volleyball Club Mary Jo. PSVC is based in Charleston, S.C.

PCVC defeated another PSVC squad, PSVC 13 Zuri, 20-25, 25-18, 16-14 in its semifinal match.

PCVC Kara: Competing in the 15 Club division, PCVC took fifth overall and first place in the Silver division.

PCVC finished 1-2 in pool play on Saturday, but rebounded with back-to-back victories in the Silver bracket. The team capped its weekend with a 25-19, 25-16 win over Stars 15 Izzy of Spartanburg.

PCVC Shawn: competing in the 16/17 Club division, PCVC reached the championship match, dropping a hard-fought 25-17, 17-25, 15-13 decision to Mountain Elite Volleyball Club 16 Black of Brevard.

PCVC’s squad won four matches to reach the final, dropping just one set in those victories.

The three PCVC teams finished the weekend a combined 12-3.
