All three Polk County Volleyball Club teams in action this weekend at the Southeast Alliance Volleyball League Spring Madness tourney in Spartanburg reached the Gold bracket with perfect records in pool play.

PCVC’s 13U Savannah squad, coached by Savannah Webb, won its first three games in pool play at the 24-team event. 13U then suffered a tough 25-12, 20-25, 15-8 defeat to Upward Stars 13 Alyssa in Gold play before dropping a 26-24, 26-24 consolation match loss to Galaxy 13 Patrick.

Team members include Jessie Bradley, Renee Bright, Cate Brown, Jill Brown, Reeve Carroll, Ava Evan, Claire Lawrence and Bella Olivari.

PCVC’s 14U team, coached by Kim Staley, rolled to wins in its first four matches before falling 25-16, 25-15 to JoCo 14 Black in the Gold semifinals. The Johnston County team went on to win the 14 Club title.

Members of PCVC’s 14U team include Mahaley Wilson, Aslyn Scruggs, Junie May Mitchell, Brooklyn Jones, Riayh Schroyer, Charley Dusenbury and Lucy Hyde.

PCVC’s 17U Shawn squad, coach by Shawn Corhn, also opened play with a 3-0 mark, reaching the Gold semifinals before falling 25-22, 25-17 to eventual Club 17-18 tournament winner JoCo 17 Black.

PCVC 17U team members include Elysia Smith, Kylie Lewis, Ada Kelley, Elena Carroll, Hayden Blackwell, Mia Bradley, Amberlyn Scruggs, Ella Waldman and Zaelea Eller.
