Polk County Volleyball Club’s 12U squad brought home another title Sunday, winning the Southeast Alliance Volleyball League’s SAVL Alliance Classic in Spartanburg.

PCVC 12U finished a perfect 5-0 in the two-day tournament. The team captured the title with a 25-19, 25-15 win over Upward Stars 12 Candi of Spartanburg.

The 12U squad did not drop a set during the two days of competition.

PCVC’s 13U/14U squad also competed in the SAVL Alliance Classic, posting a 3-2 record in competition in Hendersonville.

PCVC 13U/14U finished 3-0 in pool play on Saturday to earn a spot in the Gold championship bracket, but dropped a 27-25, 25-23 decision in their first match Sunday to Carolina Juniors Volleyball 14 Morgan of the Charlotte area.

PCVC then lost a 25-20, 23-25, 15-13 decision to Lake Norman 14 Select in the Gold Challenge round.

Also in competition during the weekend was PCVC 14U, which took part in the Charlotte AAU Grand Prix and posted a 2-3 record.

The 14U squad finished 1-2 in pool play on Saturday, earning a berth in the Silver bracket.

PCVC lost its first match Sunday 25-19, 17-25, 15-10 to Palmetto Strikers Volleyball Club Catheryne of the Charleston area. PCVC then rebounded to close the tournament with a 25-18, 25-22 win over Holy City Volleyball of Charleston, coached by former Citadel head coach Craig Mosqueda.

All PCVC teams are off until March 9, when the 12U, 13/14U, 14U and PCVC Blue teams will all compete in the SAVL Spring Madness tournament.
