Hoots claims Thunder Bomber victory at Cherokee Speedway

Mattison Hoots of Tryon took top honors Saturday in the Thunder Bomber class in dirt track racing action at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney.

Hoots moved into second place in the track’s Thunder Bomber point standings with the win, trailing Steve Greene by four points. Hoots edged Greene by 0.712 seconds to take the checkered flag in the 12-lap race.

Hoots also took top honors in racing the previous week at Travelers Rest Speedway, wining the Thunder Bomber Future A class.
