Golf tourney, virtual 5K fundraisers set for November

A pair of events benefitting local nonprofit organizations are set for November.

The Hope Golf Classic, a fundraiser for Steps to Hope, is set for Nov. 6 at Links O’ Tryon. Registration will be held at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Rain date for the event is Nov. 13.

The Polk Health and Wellness Coalition will hold its 1st Annual Virtual Turkey Trot from Nov. 23-28. Registration is $25, and participants will receive a T-shirt and a medal.

The virtual event is a 5K walk or run, and anyone may register. Deadline for registration is Oct. 30. Participants will complete their 5K during the week of Nov. 23.
