Four PCVC squads go undefeated on first day of SAVL Spring Madness Classic

Polk County Volleyball Club’s full roster hit the courts Saturday as all seven PCVC teams competed in the SAVL Spring Madness Classic at locations in Greenville, Spartanburg and Hendersonville.

Four PCVC teams finished undefeated on the first day of play, each winning three matches. They included:

  • PCVC 13U Molly, who didn’t drop a set in pool play in the 13/14 Grey division. PCVC begins Challenge Round play on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Xcel Sportsplex against Savannah River Select 14 Blue.
  • PCVC 14U, who rolled to a 3-0 record. That included a dominant 25-4, 25-4 win over Myrtle Beach Volleyball Club’s 14U Tom squad. PCVC 14U opens its Challenge Round play on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Eastside High in Greenville against Carolina Juniors Volleyball 14 Marissa.
  • PCVC 15U, which also swept its three matches. The 15U squad will begin play on Sunday at 2 p.m. at The Luke in Spartanburg against Carolina Juniors Volleyball 15 Emily.
  • PCVC 17U won all three of its matches as well. The 17U squad will open Challenge Round action on Sunday at 8 a.m. at The Luke against Atlanta Performance Volleyball 18 Elite.

Both of PCVC’s 12U teams as well as its 13U Kara team will return to the courts on Sunday looking for their first win of the weekend in Challenge Round play. The tournament marks the first SAVL action for all three teams.

PCVC 13 Kara will face Tri-Cities Extreme Volleyball Club 13 Carley at 9 a.m. at Eastside High, with 12U Amber facing Myrtle Beach Volleyball Club 12U Elite Club at 9 a.m. at the Star Center in Spartanburg and the 12U MeadSyd squad facing Mount Pleasant Volleyball 12-Black also at 9 a.m. at Star Center.
