Members of Foothills Gymnastics Academy's Gold team

Gymnasts from Foothills Gymnastics Academy competed in the 2021 North Carolina AAU State Championship, held May 1-2 in Greenville, S.C.

ScottLynn Whiteside represented FGA at the Xcel Bronze level and Genevieve Ard at the Xcel Silver level. Anna-Carlisle Keim, Eliza Then, Zina Ishwar, and Sherlyn Trejo competed at the Xcel Gold level.

Whiteside earned third all-around with 37.5 from her second place on bars with 9.55, third on vault with 9.425, 9.325 on floor and third on beam with 9.2.

Ard achieved fourth all-around with her 37.925 all-around from her first place on bars with 9.825, 9.4 on vault, 9.35 on beam and 9.35 on floor.

Keim received 37.125 all-around from her 9.425 bar, 9.375 beam, 9.3 floor and 9.025 vault.

Then tied for fourth all-around with 37.2 from her tie for first on bars with 9.35, third on beam with 9.525, 9.325 on floor and 9.0 on vault.

Isjhwar earned third place all-around with 36.95 from her second place on beam with 9.55, second place on bars with 9.225, 9.125 on floor and 9.05 on vault.

Trejo received 36.725 all-around from her second place on floor with 9.6, 9.15 on vault, and 9.15 on bars.

FGA coaches are proud of the gymnasts’ performance against tough competition from across the state.

The gymnasts will compete June 23-27 at the AAU National Gymnastics meet in Savannah, Ga.
