
Community Roundup: Booker finds new home; Hoots wins at Harris
Former Polk County baseball standout Joel Booker is back in professional baseball.
After requesting his release from the Chicago White Sox organization, Booker recently signed with the Kansas City Monarchs, an independent minor league club that competes in the American Association.
Booker has appeared in nine games to date for Kansas City, hitting .250 with two RBI.
The Monarchs’ roster includes two former major league outfielders, Gabriel Guerrero and Darnell Sweeney.
