Booker wraps up outstanding season at Indian Hills

Former Polk County standout Joel Booker wrapped up on Saturday his career at Indian Hills Community College, the Warriors seeing their season come to an end in the NJCAA Region XI tournament.

Booker finished the 2014 season hitting .403 with nine home runs and 61 RBI. He entered the tournament having been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference player of the week for the previous week, earning that honor after going 7-for-12 with four RBI, six runs and two steals in a weekend series with Marshalltown Community College.

Booker finished the season as the ICCAC leader in at-bats, hits, triples, RBI, slugging percentage and runs scored. He also finished third in batting average and stolen bases and tied for fourth in home runs.

Booker, who has signed to play next season at the University of Iowa, is currently in the top 20 nationally in triples, slugging percentage and RBI.
