Wolverines suffer first loss to R-S Central in squeaker

An experienced R-S Central squad handed Polk County its first loss of the season, dropping the Wolverines 5-4 Thursday in boys tennis action at Polk.

The Hilltoppers took four of the day’s six singles matches to take the upper hand in the match, then picked up one point in doubles to clinch the win.

Polk County (3-1) got singles wins from Ryan Heider and Henry Heider, with Henry Heider fighting back from an early deficit to claim a 10-10 (7-2) win at No. 2.

Ryan Heider teamed with Kalob Jackson for a win at No. 1 doubles, with Ryan Heider pairing with Adam Kehrer for a victory at No. 2 doubles.

Polk County returns to action Tuesday, traveling to East Henderson for a 4 p.m. match.
