Polk County’s boys tennis team picked up its first win of the season on Wednesday, slipping past Brevard 5-4 on the PCHS courts.

The Wolverines also earned their first Mountain Foothills 7 Conference victory, relying on a 4-2 advantage in singles play to key the triumph.

Polk picked up its winning point in doubles play as Banks Barber and Riley Ballentine teamed for an 8-4 victory.

Polk County (1-2, 1-1) will host Hendersonville on Monday at 4 p.m.
