Wolverines net 8-1 victory at East Rutherford

Polk County rebounded into the victory column Wednesday, handing East Rutherford an 8-1 setback in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference boys tennis action in Bostic.

The Wolverines improved to 6-3 overall, 4-3 in league play. East Rutherford dropped to 2-5.

How it happened: Polk County sealed the win with its dominance in singles, taking five of the six matches. It was no easy task for the Wolverines, though, with two matches decided by tiebreakers, each team winning one of those.

Polk swept the three doubles matches.

Next up: Polk County is slated to return home Monday to face Brevard in what is scheduled to be the final week of regular-season play.
