Undefeated Hilltoppers sweep Wolverines

R-S Central continued Tuesday its march through the Mountain Foothills 7 Conference, handing Polk County a 9-0 setback in boys tennis action at Polk.

The Hilltoppers are now 10-0 overall, 7-0 in league matches, and have lost just one individual decision in their last seven matches. Polk County dropped to 5-3 overall, 3-3 in league play.

How it happened: R-S Central dominated both singles and doubles play, with David Amitrano’s 7-5, 6-0 loss to Owen McDaniel at No. 6 singles the closest decision of the day.

The Hilltoppers also dropped just two games in the three doubles matches.

Next up: Polk County is set to travel Wednesday to East Rutherford for another league encounter.
