Undefeated Hilltoppers sweep past Wolverines

R-S Central swept Polk County 9-0 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference tennis action Monday, maintaining its perfect season record.

Ryan Garcia defeated Banks Barber 6-3, 6-1 in No. 1 singles to lead the Hilltoppers. Landon Sims, Riley Coldren, Dean Bates, Nathan Millette and Edward Barrera-Hernandez also recorded singles victories for R-S Central.

In doubles play, the Wolverines’ Allen-Windsor pairing battled before falling 8-5 in the closest match of the afternoon.

With the loss, Polk County drops to 3-4 on the season while R-S Central improves to 7-0 in conference play.

Polk Middle returns to action Wednesday at Patton for a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.
