Polk tennis squad picks up another road win
Polk County’s young tennis team continued its positive start to the season on Wednesday, downing Kings Mountain 7-2 in a non-conference road matchup.
The Wolverines claimed five of the six singles matches to secure their second win of the season.
“Another positive step for a young team searching for its identity,” said Polk County head coach Richard Davis. “Great to see Eric grit out a third-set tiebreak win after losing one on Monday.
“Once again Banks continued to impress with a gritty win over a very good opponent. Jack, Thaddeus and Gabe once again played very solid matches.”
Polk County is scheduled to return to action on Monday, hosting R-S Central in the Wolverines’ Mountain Foothills 7 Conference opener.
