Polk County’s tennis team nearly had the perfect day Tuesday.

The Wolverines dropped just one game in their Western Highlands Conference opener against Avery, dominating the Vikings in a 9-0 triumph at Polk.

Payton Stott’s 10-1 victory at No. 4 singles provided the only game a Viking player won during the match.

Polk County (5-1, 1-0) is scheduled to conclude its pre-spring break schedule on Wednesday, traveling to Mountain Heritage.
