Polk County swept the singles matches and won one doubles match to defeat Madison 7-2 in Monday’s Western Highlands Conference, home and season opener.
The Wolverines claimed all six singles matches, with Harris Windsor, Charlie Wagoner, Jacob Jenne, Ethan Jenne, Morgan Allen and Isaac Hodges each earning victories.
Windsor defeated Madison’s Spencer Parker 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 in a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles. Jacob Jenne won 6-3, 6-7 (8-6), 10-8 in a tiebreaker at No. 3 singles, while Madison’s Tori Smith retired with Polk’s Ethan Jenne leading 6-2, 2-1 at No. 4 singles.

Wagoner won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Allen claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles and Hodges won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the No. 2 team of Windsor and Allen won 8-4. Madison won at No. 1 doubles over Wagoner and Ethan Jenne 8-4, and at No. 3 doubles over Jacob Jenne and Hodges.
Polk County (1-0, 1-0 WHC) travels to Hendersonville on Wednesday.
Madison fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
