Polk County swept doubles play Wednesday to spark a 6-3 win over Kings Mountain in boys tennis action at Polk.

The Wolverines (5-1) were tied with the Mountaineers after a hard-fought round of singles. Two of the six singles matches went to tiebreakers, with Kings Mountain winning both of those to earn a 3-3 split.

But Ryan Heider and Adam Kehrer teamed for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, and the Wolverines closed the match with victories in the other two doubles matches to claim their fifth win of the season.

Polk County is scheduled to host Pisgah on Thursday at 4 p.m., weather permitting.
